Tools engineered around real work
Application services and interfaces between software, business systems and devices. Data contracts, permissions and error handling make each connection verifiable.

TECHNICAL SCOPE
Backends, APIs and system integrations
Reliable integration requires clear rules for identifiers, formats, versions and data ownership. Duplication, delay and unavailability scenarios are defined before endpoints or synchronisation are implemented. Application logic stays separate from presentation and external system details.
Activities and verification
- REST APIs, input validation, authentication and per-operation permissions.
- Synchronisation, webhooks, queues and handling of timeouts, retries and idempotency where needed.
- Engineering logs and contract tests with valid, incomplete or unavailable responses.
Initial decisions and integration
I define involved systems, data ownership, access rules and expected behaviour for each operation with the team. I can develop a connector or contribute to existing services using established API, versioning and release conventions.
A verification example
A synchronisation can be tested with a normal update, repeated requests, late responses and remote-system unavailability. Identifiers and deduplication rules should make outcomes reconstructable. Retries must account for the operation to avoid duplicated effects or inconsistent data.
Deliverables and acceptance criteria
Service code, endpoint specifications, request and response examples, configuration and tests. Volumes, limits, security and interface update procedures are agreed.
Where to start
Bring existing API documentation, anonymised sample data, test credentials and expected synchronisation rules.
Can you work with existing APIs or protocols?
I treat them as project constraints, review documentation and test environments, and agree any adaptations or integration limits with the owners of other components.
